These words come directly from your amazing heart. Your work is truly making a difference in so many peoples lives so you must stay true to that heart!

I can tell you that my heart says I don’t want anyone to experience the pain and denial of hearing loss that I went through because of lack of awareness. That’s the reason we published the book ‘Listen Up!,’ a fun breezy read that educates young people about the causes and prevention of hearing loss — it was introduced last September into all 8th grade classes in the Palm Beach County public school system. We’re thrilled about that!

You’ve certainly opened my eyes (and ears)! Working with youth at my church, I now use any opportunity I can to pass along your sage advice on how to protect their precious hearing, especially when I see them walking around with ear buds sprouting above those lobes.

Bravo! The more we bring this message into our everyday lives, the better! A pal told me recently that she actually stopped her car and asked a man operating a leaf blower whether he was wearing hearing protection (he wasn’t). And she took the time to say how damaging that noise was to his hearing. That sound, by the way, is about as high as it goes on the decibel scale. It’s gratifying to see ear muffs on people w/learf blowers, but we don’t see it nearly enough. Kathlyn
